But the heart of the home remains...

My brother and his family's home of eight years...
is no more...  This devastation took place on March 8th 2011.
Praising the Lord all seven lives were spared, even Max their puppy.

-Fuchsia-

The chimney stands alone

A mute witness to the sky

A few blackened timbers
Point scraggly fingers this way and that

A charred shell stares through blank eyes

A man's dream, his hard work,

A women's gathered life,

The treasure of each child...

Only black and ashes.

But the heart of the home remains:

A man's hardworking love,

A women's tender nurture,

The hope and promise in each child...

A living testimony to the goodness of our God.

  4. Can't help but think about the home in PA that recently burnt 'cept they lost 7 children...the one that came out to 'get mom from the barn' lived. Yes, devasting but nothing replaces a person. Praying God's provision will come through to replace all the earthly goods even double-fold like Job!

  12. Thank God they did all survive right down to the puppy.

It's all so sad but the scrapbook page got me. Truly.

May blessings and hope rain down on them and may they rebuild better - and stronger - than ever.
